This Privacy Notice explains how personal data you provide through panamaglobal.net is handled, under Law 81 of May 26, 2019 on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Panama and its implementing regulations.
If you are an expatriate, a non-resident, or relocating to Panama: this website and the services offered through it are governed by Panamanian law, regardless of your nationality or country of residence. Panama's data protection framework is not the GDPR; the rights described below are those granted by Law 81. If you are in the EU or UK, note that your local regime may grant you additional rights that we honour where they apply to us.
If you are a corporate client who completed the Know Your Customer Form, that process is governed by the fuller Privacy Notice contained in that form, which is broader than this one.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Rigoberto Antonio Amaya De León, an individual insurance broker holding license PN-8635, regulated and supervised by the Superintendency of Insurance and Reinsurance of Panama.
- Email: rigoberto@panamaglobal.net
- WhatsApp / phone: +507 6371 3416
2. Data we process
2.1 Data you give us
The quote request form on this site collects only:
- Full name (required)
- Phone number (required)
- Email address (optional)
- Type of insurance you are interested in (optional)
- Free-text message, if you choose to write one (optional)
If you contact us by WhatsApp or email instead, we also process whatever you choose to include in that message.
We do not ask for sensitive data on this website. Please do not send health information, passport or cédula numbers, banking details or card numbers through the web form. Where that information is genuinely needed to quote or place a policy — which is common for international health insurance — it is collected through a dedicated channel with its own notice and consent step.
2.2 Technical data
The site is served through Cloudflare, which automatically logs technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security, abuse prevention and service delivery.
3. Why we process it
- To respond to your request for a quote, information or advice.
- To contact you through the channel you indicate, and follow up.
- To prepare quotations and comparisons of insurance products matching what you describe.
- To manage the pre-contractual relationship and, should you proceed, the placement and administration of the policy.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations applicable to insurance intermediaries in Panama, including anti-money-laundering requirements.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or trade it.
4. Legal basis and consent
Processing is based on your free, prior, informed and unequivocal consent, given when you submit the form or contact us voluntarily, and on compliance with legal obligations that apply to a licensed broker.
You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to rigoberto@panamaglobal.net. Withdrawal is not retroactive and does not affect data we are legally required to retain.
5. Who receives your data
- Insurance carriers licensed in Panama, in order to obtain quotes or place the cover you request. For international health plans this may include carriers and administrators operating outside Panama.
- Technology providers acting as processors on our instructions: Esri (ArcGIS Survey123) for the form, Google (Workspace) for email and file storage, and Cloudflare for site hosting.
- Competent authorities, where there is a valid legal or regulatory requirement.
6. International transfers
The providers listed above host data on servers outside Panama, primarily in the United States. If you request an international health or life product, your data may additionally be transmitted to carriers or administrators in other jurisdictions in order to obtain terms. These transfers are made under contractual arrangements requiring confidentiality and security safeguards, and solely for the purposes described here.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not result in a policy: up to 24 months from last contact, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
- Clients with a policy in force: for the duration of the relationship and thereafter for the periods required by Panamanian insurance and anti-money-laundering rules.
8. Your rights
Law 81 grants you rights of access, rectification, cancellation (deletion), objection and portability, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.
To exercise them, write to rigoberto@panamaglobal.net stating which right you wish to exercise and attaching a copy of your identity document so we can verify who you are. We respond within a maximum of 30 business days. Exercising these rights is free of charge.
9. Security measures
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures: encryption in transit (HTTPS), two-step authentication on the accounts holding client information, and a minimum-necessary-data approach. No measure is infallible, but your information is handled carefully and confidentially.
10. Cookies and analytics
This website uses no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. There is no profiling and no remarketing.
The quote form is served by ArcGIS Survey123, which may use storage strictly necessary for it to function.
If audience measurement is added in future, we will prefer cookie-free tooling; if non-essential cookies are ever used, we will ask for your consent first.
11. Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data. Where a child is named as an insured person or beneficiary, that data is provided by a parent or legal guardian as part of the policy process, not through this website.
12. Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated to reflect regulatory or operational changes. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its last-updated date.
